Very clear indeed, and commonsense. Surviving trauma is hard work and the first thing to do is to stop avoiding, deflecting and denying what has happened. The 'good' thing about trauma (if there is such a thing) is that it becomes very hard to be inauthentic, lose yourself in image-building, smalltalk etc. Which makes it hard to connect to ordinary folk, but there is a chance to become truly wise, deeper and more compassionate than before..

ReplyDeleteI am working on it, I try and talk (through writing) but some days the words seem more horrifying if spoke or written than the suffering.
